چکیده

This work evaluated the changes in physicochemical attributes semiarid soil submitted to domestic sewage anaerobic treatment, presence or absence of cultivar. The experimental unit was set up rural area Ouro Verde, municipality São Domingos, state Bahia, Brazil. Five treatments were tested by diluting wastewater and supply percentages 0 %, 25 50 75 100 %. Soil samples taken at depths - 35 cm (P1), 70 (P2) from sampling units with cultivar, control without treatment (white). cultivar corn (Zea mays L.), family Poaceae, which has a relatively short cycle (60 120 days). At end experiments, after harvest, presented average Ca, P, K, OM 5% 66 % higher than white, while sample units, 4% 44 higher, due consumption contribution TKN minimum sufficient for Compared Na, SAR, PST, EC 113 P1, 29 – 456 P2, indicates cation P2; change ion distribution exchange site; as well predisposition sodification (increase PST) salinization EC). Consequently, application treated effluents agricultural activity, although it adds nutrients soil, negative effects increase sodicity salinity.

Effects of Irrigation with Treated Wastewater on Root and Fruit Mineral Elements of Chemlali Olive Cultivar

Twenty-year-old "Chemlali" olive trees trained to vase and rainfed were investigated in either "on" (2004) or "off" (2003) year. A randomized block design with three blocks and three treatments was used and each experimental plot consisted of nine olive trees. Three treatments were applied: (1) rainfed conditions (RF, used as control treatment); (2) irrigation with well water (WW); and (3) irri...

Effect of irrigation with treated wastewater on lead and cadmium accumulations in soil and sweet pepper plant

Background and Objective: Limited water resources in arid and semi-arid regions are one of the major limiting factors in agricultural production. Thus, unconventional water resources, such as urban treated wastewater, may be used for irrigation. Application of wastewater to the soil may cause accumulation of heavy metals (HMs). Soil pollution causes uptake of these metals by plants and their en...
